The session today at the Moravian Library is to be chaired by Vítězslav Mikeš, the dramaturgist of the Brno Philharmonic. His guests are the chief conductor Dennis Russell Davies and opera singer Martina Janková. The discussion is part of a programme accompanying an online exhibition currently taking place, entitled Antonín Rejcha Lost and Found.
At the end of last year, the Brno Philharmonic produced a recording of Rejcha’s work Lenora, performed under the leadership of Dennis Russell Davies with Martina Janková in the leading role. Both are the guests of the online discussion hosted by the Moravian Library in connection with the ongoing Antonín Rejcha Lost and Found exhibition. The aim of the session entitled Antonín Rejcha on the orchestral stage is to present archival recordings of Rejcha’s works from the perspective of artists and organisers of musical events. The online discussion is being streamed today, 15th March, starting at 7 p.m.; via the following link.
