Young violoncellists of the Prague Cello Quartet will perform at the Besední dům (Concert Hall) to support the purchase of a new organ for the Holy Trinity Church in Brno-Královo Pole.
The Prague Cello Quartet consists of four young artists: Jan Zvěřina, Petr Špaček, Jan Zemen and Ivan Vokáč. The quartet debuted in the fall of 2006 in the Žofín Palace in Prague. Over time, they have created a repertoire of compositions, the range of which is very diverse, each composition is played in the original version for four violoncellos.
The charity concert will feature works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Dvořák, John Williams, Freddie Mercury, Django Reinhardt and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Classical music, jazz music, hit songs of the world's best known bands and well-known film music – all in an unusual arrangement for four violoncellists and their instruments. The concert is schedule for 10 April 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Besední dům (Concert Hall).
