The Open House project is another event related to the 50th anniversary of the Janáček Theatre building opening. For two days, the theatre will be opened to visitors even outside the regular production and it will offer the tour of the stage, rehearsal rooms, backstage or the technical facilities of the building.
The traditional tour of the entire theatre building offers not only the backstage area, but also a musical and dance performance by the Janáček Opera ensemble and the ballet of the National Theatre Brno. Visitors can view the entire building without a guide using marked paths. The beginning of the tour will be in the lobby of the theatre. Ensembles like Qartet, Dětský sbor Brno (Brno Children Choir) or Brněnský akademický sbor (Brno Academic Choir) will also perform there. The event will take place on Friday 6 November from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. and on Saturday 7 November from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
The tour will start in the lobby, from where visitors may proceed to the depths of the theatre via a tunnel to the backdrop lift and through a trap door. Then the upper floors with the ballet hall, the rehearsal stage and the rehearsal room of the choir tours will follow. The route back leads directly to the stage, where visitors will find themselves in the backdrops of Janáček's opera Jenufa. The path back to the foyer leads through the auditorium.
