The academic senate elected the dramaturge, scriptwriter, actor and teacher Petr Oslzlý to be the new head of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts. He was competing for the post of rector with Barbara Maria Willi.
Prof. Mgr. Petr Oslzlý studied theatre science and art history. From 1972 he was dramaturge at the Theatre Goose on a String. In the period 1976-1980 and 1992-2001 he was also artistic director and wrote more than two dozen plays for them. In November 1989 he was one of the founder-members of Civic Forum, and from 1990 to 1992 he was an advisor to Presidenta Václav Havel.
