Jazz musician and Grammy winner Oran Etkin will lead a children's workshop on a music teaching method called Timbalooloo.
The workshop is part of the Mladí ladí jazz (The Young Tune Jazz) Festival. The aim of the workshop is to promote children’s perception of music through imagination. Through fun games, stories and songs, Oran Etkin shows that everyone is inherently a musician. The children are actively involved in the performance and no knowledge of music theory is required. The workshop is intended for children from 6 to 10 years of age and is conducted in English with Czech translation. Accompaniment by parents is required. The workshop for children will take place on 4 April 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Kabinet Múz.
Jazz clarinetist Oran Etkin comes from Israel. He has worked in New York for several years, where he founded a music school for preschool-aged children built on his own teaching method - Timbalooloo. It is based on playfulness that develops emotion and love for music in children. Etkin has successfully introduced his Timbalooloo method, for example, in Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai and Los Angeles.
