The 16th year of the JazzFestBrno festival presents the complete programme of this traditional spring jazz show. Along with the concerts of Chick Corea, Richard Bon and Steve Gadd there will also be for example performances the funk master drummer Poogie Bell and the Beninese guitarist Lionel Loueke.
The festival offers a total of twelve concert evenings, where a score of groups both from abroad and from the Czech and Slovak scenes will be performing. The Czech scene will be represented by Dan Bárta, Robert Balzar Trio with the Brno Philharmonic, the trio of guitarist David Dorůžka orthe concert of jazz legends led by Peter Lipa. “Tradition will be represented by Joe Lovano with the Classic Quartet, modern postbop by the admired an at-the-top-of-his-form Chris Potter and the Norwegian debutant Marius Neset, funk and soul with Harry Sokal and Mike Stephenson, then avant-garde with the eternal seeker Luboš Soukup, the conceptualist Michal Wróblewski or the respected universal man Marcel Bárta,” adds the festival’s artistic director Vilém Spilka.
The Festival Programme runs from 23 March to 4 May 2017.
