The festival, featuring folk ensembles from around the world, will also include the South Moravian harvest festival. Freedom Square, the Old City Hall courtyard and cafés will come alive with folklore and theatre.
The Brno International Folklore Festival is organised by the Association of Friends of Folklore and it has been held regularly at the end of the summer holidays since 1990. In addition to performances of the ensembles, it also offers wine tastings, activities for children and an agricultural product fair. The festival will open with a performance by VUS Ondráš and BROLN named Proč Kalino v struze stojíš (Why are you standing in the trench, Kalina). Other concerts will include the French ensemble Folk group la Mentonnaise, Brno Valášek, Na stromě Theatre and more. The IFF will be held on 25 - 28 August 2016 in Brno.
