The Praga Cantat International Choir Competition is dedicated to non-professional choirs with a minimum of twelve members. The choir competition, which awards the Grand Prix Praga Cantat prize, was founded by choirmaster Miroslav Košler. The whole competition took place at the National House in Prague's Vinohrady and this year featured over two dozen choirs from Europe and one from Mexico. The Czech Republic was represented by four choirs. One of them was the Brno women's choir Gloria Brunensis, which defended its win in the Women's Choir category and was also awarded a special prize for its performance of Der Wassermann. This year's Prague Cantat ran from 31 October to 3 November 2024.
