Melodies interwoven with the poetry of Jewish poets from the interwar a war periods in the spaces of Interiér NEST. The works of the Brno native Pavel Haas, Viktor Ullman, Hans Krása and Gideon Klein will be heard. Part of the musical-commemorative programme will be the world premiere of the composition Mea Culpa by Jiří Miroslav Procházka. The programme is loosely based on the idea of the Year of Reconciliation from 2015.
During the concert rarely performed compositions by the Jewish composers Pavel Haas – a native of Brno, Viktor Ullman, Hans Krása and Gideon Klein will be performed by Jiří Miroslav Procházka (voice) and Jiří Hrubý (piano), interwoven with the poetry of Jewish poets of the interwar and war periods. The texts will be given by the priest, scriptwriter and director Jan Hanák. The conclusion of the evening will be the premiere of the composition Mea Culpa by Jiří Miroslav Procházka, dealing with man’s path from guilt to forgiveness. The work is written to a poem by Jan Skácel, who would have been 95 in 2017. It will be performed by the Slovanský komorní ansámbl (Slavonic Chamber Ensemble conducted by its artistic director Joel Hána. The concert will take place 11 May 2017 at 7.30 p.m. in the new spaces of Interiér NEST.
