On Thursday Brno’s Fléda club will play host to the group Mydy Rabycad, who will be arriving with their new album M.Y.D.Y., an innovative lighting design, sets and costumes.
Mydy Rabycad are opening another chapter with their third disc. Mydy Rabycad has a series of concerts in the USA behind them as well as a show at the Glastonbury Festival. Their latest album demolishes genre boundaries. The eleven new tracks gradually leave behind the sound of electroswing. Despite this the pilot single Just Dance is a literal invitation to dance, just differently. The album links swing, pop and electronica. “When they listen I want people to feel the same energy from our music both when live and from recordings. We at M.Y.D.Y. have done our best for this,” comments band member Žofie. The mood of the album corresponds to the refreshing spaces of Berlin’s Red Bull Music Studios, where the Prague group spent several days behind closed doors and to make this recording of today’s music.
The producer of the album was Tomáš Konůpka, and a number of guests were also involved: the wind section under Miroslav Hloucal, a string quartet led by Hana Kašpárek Vyšínská and the bass player Josef Fečo. The third standard disc from Mydy Rabycad confirms their status as one of the most up-to-date youthful formations. Their sound evokes a palette of emotions and often makes you want to dance. Aside from Berlin’s Red Bull Music Studios the album was also recorded in the Svárov, Barrandov Sound and G.A.W. studios.
The concert has been announced for 30 November 2017 in Brno’s Fléda club from 8 p.m.
