A big circus tent is now standing in the Lužánky park; until June this year it will play host to New Circus shows, theatre performances and concerts.
As part of the opening ceremony of the Circus festival, the upcoming Rozmarné léto (Capricious Summer) comedy performance, staged by the National Theatre Brno, will be featured in Brno. The Capricious Summer, directed by Jakub Nvota, will be premiered on 23 February. The main protagonists will be Petr Halberstadt, Martin Sláma and Michal Bumbálek. In addition to drama and comedy performances, the ‘Big Top’ will have regular New Circus performances. It will feature, for example, the Younak Circus that combines theatre, circus and folklore. There will also be shows by the Cirque E1NZ from Switzerland and Israel and a cabaret show by the Canadian-American duo Strange Comedy.
The circus tent will also host musical productions. There will be seven concerts in total, covering various genres. The first concert will be a performance by the Czech ‘100 zvířat’ ska band. Chantal Poullain, Midi Lidi, Petr Bende and Ondřej Havelka with his Melody Makers will also appear in the spring period.
