Soloists Pavla Vykopalová, Tomáš Kořínek and Jiří Sulženko and Kühnův dětský sbor (Kühn Children's Choir) will be guests of the Brno Philharmonic and Kantiléna in the Stadion Functionalism Hall.
The programme of the 60th anniversary concert programme of the Brno Philharmonic and Kantiléna is Špalíček – a concert performance of a 3-act ballet by Bohuslav Martinů. Soprano Pavla Vykopalová, tenor Tomáš Kořínek and bassist Jiří Sulženko will perform as soloists. Other performing artists include the Kantiléna children's and youth choir under the leadership of choir masters Jakub Klecker and Michal Jančík, Kühnův dětský sbor under the leadership of Jiří Chvála and Petr Louženský and the Brno Philharmonic with conductor Jakub Klecker. The concert will take place on 28 April 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Stadion Hall on Kounicova Street.
The Kantiléna Choir was founded by Ivan Sedláček in 1956 as Šlapanický dětský sbor (Šlapanice Children's Choir). Victory in the national competition in Bratislava six years later contributed to the fact that, from 1967, the school choir became a selective ensemble under today's name. Kantiléna gradually made their way towards cooperation with leading composers, orchestras and conductors. They gained national and international reputation and won a number of awards in international competitions. Cooperation with voice instructor Professor Jiří Bar and Professor Anna Barová, a long-term outstanding opera soloist of the Brno National Theatre, helped the choir build a reliable singing technique. Since 1984, Kantiléna has been working with the Brno State Philharmonic Orchestra (nowadays Brno Philharmonic). Starting in 2006, Jakub Klecker, a former member of the ensemble himself, replaced Ivan Sedláček as the choir master.
