French-speaking nations will present their culture through theatrical performances, concerts, films, art workshops and gastronomy.
In addition to traditional France, this year's festival also focuses on other francophone countries. The two-week event will offer, for example, an African dance workshop led by dancers from the band Aneboafro. Bands Korajunglejazz and Aneboafro, inspired by African music tradition, and DJ Tetro, who combines primarily funk and house melodies, will play after the workshop. The second workshop is body percussions under the guidance of Pierre Doazan, focused on the art of making musical sounds with the artist's own body. You can also visit theatrical performances, film screenings, travel lectures, exhibitions, tastings and a pétanque tournament. The final music evening will feature the Brno-based gypsy jazz formation Rádoby nádoby, French band Fatras, who play a mix of klezmer, French chanson, swing, rock'n'roll and cumbia rhythms. And finally the Brno-based quintet Tyjátrio who play swing and jazz. The Bonjour Brno Festival will take place on 9 - 24 April 2016.
