The musical group the Jitka Šuranská Trio, The Kudlovice Women’s Choir, RukyNaDudy and the Association of Independent Jazzmen together recorded an acoustic CD full of traditional songs from Moravia. The album was issued by Indies Scope.
The album Beránci a vlci is based on a vision of Moravian world music. The origins of the project lie in a concert called Z kořenů k world music (From Roots to World Music), which took place at the festival Folkové prázdniny 2014 (Folk Holiday 2014). Aside from the Sdružení nezávislých jazzmenů (Association of Independent Jazzmen) there was also the ensemble Jitka Šuranská Trio, which came together in 2014, when together with the violinist and vocalist Jitka Šuranská, Martin Krajíček and Marian Friedl began to create and perform. Also participating on the album was the Ženský sbor Kudlovice (Kudlovice Women’s Choir). The choir has been singing since 2004, concentrating on folk music from the Zlín region and the surrounding areas of South Moravia. The last group is RukyNaDudy, which is from Frenštát pod Radhoštěm. Their repertoire is made up of ancient forms of the traditional music of the Hukvaldský Beskyd. The group mainly uses local variants of the basic musical instruments from the North-West Carpathians: A wide range of whistles, fiddles, bagpipes with various tunings and tonal possibilities, small cimbaloms and alphorns. The release of the album Beránci a vlci is to take place 24 February 2017.
