This Friday at the building site of the Janáček Cultural Centre a memorial box will be placed with writings recording the period of the building of the concert hall.
In the special capsule in the wall below the Slavia Hotel a tube will be placed with documents relating to the past and future of the hall, period publications and a handful of tertiary soil that was found at the place of the construction. During the ceremony the world premiere will be held of part of a composition by Jiří Dvořák for solo bassoon which this Brno Conservatory student created as a tribute to Leoš Janáček. In a survey Brno inhabitants decided that its score will also be placed in the memorial box.
The ceremonial placing of the box will take place on Friday 12 May from 11 a.m. at the corner of Besední and Veselá streets.
