Composer Leoš Janáček is one of Brno's prodigies. The Janáček Brno Project presents the composer in several stages. One of them is the recently updated Leoš Janáček app, which maps the sites of his work and contains parts of his compositions.
The application also includes the Leoš Janáček Trail, through which users will be able to walk through nineteen places in Brno and the surrounding areas which are linked to his life and work. The application connects various sites in a user-friendly interactive map. To provide an even closer look at the work of Leoš Janáček, it also contains music samples that are tied to the respective sites. The app for mobile phones and computers is available for download here.
The Diary of the One Who Disappeared will be also introduced along with the new version. This traveller's diary was created by the well-known architect and graphic designer Martin Hrdina. The diary introduces Janáček and his life in graphics. The cover is made of fox fur. Other souvenirs such as a business card holder, mirror, chocolates, mints and a pencil are made in the same style. In the next stages of the Janáček Brno Project, the spirit of the composer will be brought to the city streets in the upcoming years. The accompanying programme will include gamification, workshops and a street art competition, and the interactive trail will be supplemented with information about the respective sites.
