England is rightly a feminine word in Czech. You will definitely not find out anything specific, unambiguous or, God forbid, binding from this well-behaved lady. But do not hold it against her – she doesn't know, she is not sure.
To us, non-islanders, for example, today's sunrise at 5:49 a.m. might seem unchangeable. However, to Mrs. England it only seems probable! As she is enjoying some wedding cakes with the afternoon tea, she feels that her niece probably got married yesterday. And maybe she would prefer better weather, as they were returning from the feast with Kate last night, her new hat got wet. After all, the issue of the weather is one of her most pressing problems. She feels responsible, even guilty of every adverse weather condition. Already in the morning, she apologises to you for the unpleasant north-west wind and do not even mention that the fog rises up around noon or you will break her heart.
Her sense of duty, as well as a deep compassion for suffering, certainly cannot be denied. If you trample her lawn, she will call the police on you; however, she will express her condolences over your surely miserable stay at the station and will reassure you that even in the future, when you need something again, you can turn to her.
I probably do not have to remind you, with your greater experience, that with the right madam you will also reach deep into your pockets. This businesswoman will win you over with her charming smile. The price of her services does not need to be negotiated in advance, it is clear to you that she will be reasonable! Did you not agree that she would buy earrings for one hundred and fifty pounds for your mother's birthday present on top of the necklace? Good thing you have her. Otherwise, your loved ones could think that you are saving money on them.
If she refuses to have dinner in your company (she is probably on a diet), do not feel offended. Obelix was right – it is hard to digest wild boar with mint sauce anyway.
England is simply a proper female (the author is a woman, so she must know something about it).
