"Nordic Power Metal Titans" is the apt name of the tour announced by SONATA ARCTICA and STRATOVARIUS, which will also come to us on November 9th in Brno, Sono Centra, on its way through autumn Europe!
The Finnish melodic metal whirlwind SONATA ARCTICA still has many fans and their ranks are expanding, not only thanks to their tireless release of a diverse range of works (ten studio albums, two acoustic albums, etc.), but also by playing countless shows. The quintet - singer Tony Kakko, guitarist Elias Viljanen, bassist Pasi Kauppinen, Henrik "Henkka" Klingenberg on keyboards and drummer Tommy Portimo - are the standard-bearers of contemporary power-metal and are still riding the wave of success. After visiting European clubs as part of their "Acoustic Adventures" tour last winter, SONATA ARCTICA now returns to the stage and will present itself in their classic metal concept alongside their compatriots STRATOVARIUS. STRATOVARIUS (a.k.a. "Kings Of Power Metal") will play this fall, in addition to many classic songs, also tunes from their latest album "Survive" (2022).
The special guest of the tour is the international symphonic power metal band INDUCTION, who will present their second album "Born From Fire" (2022).
SONATA ARCTICA keyboardist Henrik "Henkka" Klingenberg states: “We're very happy to be back on the road playing power metal and co-headlining with our friends from STRATOVARIUS! The first SONATA ARCTICA tour was in 2000 with these same guys, so it will be amazing to relive it 23 years later, especially for those of us who weren't there the first time. It really is a once in a lifetime experience…twice actually!”
STRATOVARIUS comments: “We are very excited to be doing this fall tour with SONATA ARCTICA and INDUCTION. Together with SONATA ARCTICA and RHAPSODY we went in 2000 and this will be a great opportunity to show how strong power metal still is and how it has evolved, adapted and survived!”
INDUCTION guitarist Tim Kanoa Hansen adds: “Our last album 'Born From Fire' was received very positively, but that was just the beginning.
