Not even the US Parliament could stop their "rock & shock". Heavy metal legend W.A.S.P. has its 40th anniversary and will also be celebrated in Brno's Son
American heavy metal legend W.A.S.P. will be giving himself a world tour for his fortieth birthday!
Surprisingly, he won't start it in his homeland, but will celebrate with his European fans first. Czech fans can come to congratulate her on May 15 at Sono Music in Brno, where the band promises to serve them a cross-section of her entire frantic forty-year ride, in which even the American Parliament or the Washington Senate tried in vain to stop her.
Only a handful of bands in the history of rock'n'roll have evoked such tumultuously contradictory reactions as W.A.S.P. It was 1982, when a group called We Are Sexual Perverts burst onto the music scene, with a style that they defined with the motto "rock & shock", with lyrics to which "nothing was sacred" and wild concerts that at best ended " just" a destroyed stage. What for rock fans was the welcome absolute opposite of polished pop, which at the time dominated all the music charts, television and radio airwaves, for others was completely unacceptable and worthy of an immediate ban. But even if the wave of resistance, incited by the union of religious organizations with city councils, took the whole thing to the parliament and the Washington Senate, and partially succeeded in "clipping the wings", it was not possible to stop its concert or recording activities.
W.A.S.P. they have sold over 12 million records and played thousands of concerts all over the world, with parts of which they will also celebrate their forties this year.
On the upcoming tour, Blackie Lawless promises to invite visitors to where it all began - to the very creation of W.A.S.P. All this in an extravagant show that most W.A.S.P. she had never seen before.
The exclusive guest of the concert will be Images Of Eden.
