The Brno band Bixley was founded in 1992. Until 1997, we played both on big stages and in clubs. The most famous composition of this period, which stayed at the top of the Brno radio charts, was Magdalénka.
Present:
After twelve years of artistic hiatus, building careers and devoting ourselves to families, we returned to the scene in the fall of 2009. We have released two new CDs and are working on another.
The central character of the group remains the lyricist, composer, guitarist and singer in one person, Marek Blatný, who inherited the art of writing remarkable lyrics from his uncle, the well-known poet Ivan Blatný, and the gift of composing interesting music from his father, the music composer Pavlo Blatný.
Vilém Patlok (bass guitar) and Jiří Skula (drums) make up the music and rhythm, who have been playing together since the end of the eighties, when they toured with Roman Pokorný in the group Tryskáči.
Jan Mokrý (keyboard instruments) returned to the band in March 2010.
