Luboš Soukup's quartet plays original contemporary jazz, which is based on the expressive compositions of the band leader. The compositions are inspired by jazz greats, e.g. Wayne Shorter, Charles Lloyd, Joe Henderson, etc., as well as other musical genres. As part of the project, the Czech saxophonist collaborates with top Czech musicians such as pianist Vít Křišťan, double bass player Jaromír Honzák and drummer Marek Urbánek. Their distinctive sound and approach to music create a unique combination and the result is captivatingly colorful music.

The band has 3 albums to its credit. The debut album Beyond the Boarders was released in 2012. A year later, the album Through the Mirror was added, on which a six-member brass section and a classical string quartet play together with the quartet. The latest record for now is called Země and features Beninese guitarist Lionel Loueke. The last two albums were selected in the Czech Radio Experts Poll as the best jazz albums of the year (2013 and 2017).
Luboš Soukup is celebrating success both on the Czech stage and abroad (in 2017 he received the prestigious award Discovery of the Year in Denmark from Miles Davis' long-time bandmate Marilyn Mazur).
