Swedish avant-garde saxophonist Martin Küchen in a duo with Czech-Danish toy and object player Martin Klapper and then in a unique quartet with Czech musicians Jan Chalupa (drums) and Radim Hanousek (winds).
The unique line-up led by Martin Küchen managed to create on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of Radio Ponava on the stage of the same name in Lužánky Park in Brno. His partner here will be a performer of Czech origin, currently living in Copenhagen, a player of various objects and especially toys, Martin Klapper, and in the second part of the performance, saxophonist and clarinetist Radim Hanousek and Jan Chalupa on drums will join in.
Swedish saxophonist and occasional percussionist Martin Küchen has performed twice in recent years at the Jazz Goes To Town festival. In 2017, with his ensemble Angles 7, which was a seven-piece mutation of the ensemble performing mainly as Angles 9, Küchen's extraordinary ability to inspire his bandmates to different perspectives on his compositions is evident. Last year, he played a wonderful interior session with the Portuguese (but currently living in Sweden) trumpeter Susana Santos Silva, where both made perfect use of the space of the Choir of Priest Ambrose.
Admission is voluntary, priceless experiences...
