Story
Pavel Křížkovský belongs to the most important musical personalities who worked in Olomouc. Along with Bedřich Smetana, he is considered a founding personality of Czech and Moravian national music. He composed patriotic choirs and songs, as well as a wide repertoire of spiritual music. He was also an influential supporter of Cecilianism, i.e. the reform of church music in the 19th century.
Through this concert, the Olomouc male choirs that existed in the past will also be remembered. The most important were the Nešvera Male Choir (MPS Nešvera), which was founded in 1920 (closed in 2016), MPS Haná (founded in 1952, closed in 2015) and occasional MPS Křížkovský, which was founded in 2013 and who performed at several concerts with Pavel Křížkovský's core repertoire (especially at the concert in the Corpus Christi Chapel during the publication of the publication Music in the Olomouc Cathedral (1872–1985) by Eva Vičarová in 2013).
