SONATA VARIATIONS

01/08/23, 19:00

Story
At that time, the sonata form was primarily an attempt to "reduce" the operatic virtuoso style to an instrumental form. This is what the Cantata per flauto refers to, which is also the author's only opus for the recorder (J. A. Hasse was otherwise a megastar opera author). An interesting proof of "musical peregrination" is the fate and work of Godfoy Finger. A native of Olomouc, after several stops, he worked for a long time in London, where he made a living, among other things, by making transcriptions of violin literature for the recorder.
