Second City

Opera Druhé město, inspired by the novel of the same name by Michal Ajvaz, seeks a parallel world that is full of mysticism, adventure and nostalgia. Musically, the Second City of Ondřej Kyas combines classical music, where acoustic instruments complement synthesizers. A sung line creates an atmosphere, while the spoken word moves the viewer through space and action. On stage, the audience can look forward to a unique semi-concert performance, in which the atmosphere of the mysterious metaphorical Second City on the border between reality and fiction materializes not only thanks to the original music, but also thanks to the scenic action of the actors, video projections and light design.
