Which girl will eventually have Cinderella's lost shoes, we all know who we know this fairy tale. Cinderella, Prince, evil stepmother and envious sisters come to life in a family fairytale performance together with the wonderful music of Sergei Prokofiev in a choreography tailored to our ensemble and performers.
Sergei Prokofiev is one of the greatest musical figures of the 20th century, and especially in the ballet genre, his works are a treasure literally pampered in the repertoires of large ballet ensembles. Of Sergei Prokofiev's six ballet operas, the legendary Romeo and Juliet and Cinderella are still playing in the audience. We decided to include Prokofiev's ballet fairy tale Cinderella in our repertoire for the title of Romeo and Juliet, whose world premiere at the NdB in 1938 we celebrated with a new production. This second most played ballet by the composer is one of the most popular and at the same time the most played children's ballets ever. In her previous choreographies for our ensemble - Rhapsody in Blue and New Year's Eve Swan Lake, choreographer of the new production Markéta Pimek Habalová showed a great feeling for stage action and humor in dance. We believe that our new narrative production of Cinderella will be a great family performance that will entertain both the youngest spectators and their adult accompaniment.
