TWO
Choreography: Lukáš Timuľak
In his new work TWO, Lukáš Timuľak, together with fashion designer Boris Haneček and composer Henry Vega, explore ways to combine the ideas of individuals in a synergy of creation. The dance of the two dancers is an expression of connection, inseparability and forces that complement rather than oppose each other, forming a whole that is much more than the sum of its parts.
MURMURATION
Choreography: Edwaard Liang
Murmuration is a one-act dance impression that artistically reflects the natural phenomenon in which flocks of migrating birds create fascinating formations in the sky. The one-act ballet inspired by the natural spectacle was performed by choreographer Edwaard Liang in 2013 with the Houston Ballet. The choreographer's ability to attractively capture the sensitive relationship between choreography and music is a prerequisite for an exciting illusory experience. Edwaard Liang reflects the dynamism of the music with a movement tension that replicates the energy of birds flying to the safety of the mass. The smooth movement of the choral text dissolves into the ephemerality of four short duets.
ENTROPY
Choreography: Craig Davidson
In the foreground of this ballet miniature stands pure dance in its bare form. Choreographic abstraction shows the almost unlimited movement possibilities of the human body with a vocabulary that draws its elementary material mainly from classical dance technique, but gives it a 21st century twist. The choreographer's experience of working at the Royal Flanders Ballet, the Semper Opera in Dresden and the Lucerne Ballet in Switzerland, as well as his love for tap dance, are reflected in the plastic movements full of dynamic changes and demanding coordination. In the foreground is the aesthetically appealing physicality materialized in the animal sculpture of the performers.
