The Brno band Folk Team will celebrate 50 years since its foundation in 2023.
It was founded in 1973 by Roman Venclovský, Pavel Kopřiva and Tomáš Úlehla. In the pre-revolutionary period, it plays folk in an acoustic "garb" using violin, flute and cello, receives two author's Portas and becomes a sought-after group, especially in clubs throughout the country. The distinguishing mark of the band is primarily the poetic lyrics of Ivan Huvar, who became a member of the band since 1980, and the expressive singing of Roman Venclovský and elaborate musical arrangements. After 1989, the band becomes electrified, rhythmic players arrive, i.e. bass guitar and drum players, and the band moves towards folk rock. The turning point in their work was the CD "Velký prachy" from 2000 and later "Nebudu" from 2012. Songs such as Skála, Nadčlovek, Drunken Angel became an integral part of the playlist of genre radio stations.
In 2023, the performance will include a cross-section of the work, i.e. the best that Folk Team has played during its existence. In addition to those already mentioned, the songs Mluvící koň, Ptačí song, Evropa, Za five minut five, Mótylí hra and others will definitely be heard.
