Swan Lake is one of the world’s most performed and famous ballets. It tells the story of a prince who falls in love with an enchanted princess. Thanks to the magnificent music and the exceptional performances by the dancers, the narrative speaks to audiences around the world to this day. There are countless productions and versions of Swan Lake, differing primarily in the interpretation of the main roles of Odette and Odile which can be danced either as a dual role or separately by two different ballerinas. The ending may also have alternate versions - either tragic or happy. In this production the fate of the lovers remains uncertain. Swan Lake is one of the centrepieces of the repertoire at the National Theatre Brno.
