Sleeping Beauty like a classical ballet gem.
The last of the trio of famous Tchaikovsky ballets Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty, aft er more than twenty years, getting back to our repertoire. An immortal work, inspired by Charles Perrault’s Sleeping Beauty, was created by Marius Petipa with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The premiere was in 1890 in czarist Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. It is perhaps the most challenging ballet in all aspects. Its music and dancing difficulty puts enormous demands on the performers, the opulence and pomposity of stage and costume settings than for the theatre’s budget. But the result is always worth it. Only a few theatres and ballet companies with good artistic and economical backround are able to play this cornerstone of the classical ballet. Our production will go from the Petersburg ballet tradition, choreographed by the Russian choreographer and ballet master Bakhram Yuldashev. More than a hundred years come generations of spectators to admire the fairy tale of Princess Aurora and Prince Désiré, when over their destinies battled the forces of good and evil, the Lilac Fairy and the evil Carabosse. Tchaikovsky’s wonderful music, Petipa’s brilliant choreographic composition along with the fairy tale setting and performances of our company and soloists promise a top of ballet season already in the spring.
