Musical production of the graduating class of DF JAMU.
Legend. An age-old theme. The fight between good and evil, death and life. The battle of black against white, cold and fire. The fight of a man and a woman. Just a battle between the major key and the minor key. "Excalibur" in rock guise.
The legend of King Arthur has been around for a thousand years. In traditional storytelling, history, literature, painting, film. It is therefore not surprising that the sharp, striking music of Michal Pavlíček, which ticks to the rhythm of the words of the lyricists Vlastimil Třešňák, Jan Sahara Hedl and Karel Steigerwald, also took hold of her. The best Czech authors meet the best of English medieval mythology. Will it hold up in the twenty-first century?
Excalibur is about the beginning and the end, Will love win? Death? Nothingness? Nihilism? Will the story remain a story or will it be crushed by the fragments of postmodernity? Will Merlin or Morgana, Arthur or Mordred win? Or Time standing above everything?
