Selah Collective plays original Mediterranean jazz & fusion, infused with authentic flavors from all over the world. Rooted & grounded in Israel, we combine our roots & local influences with the sounds of African, Latin, and classical music. Influences include Avishai Cohen, Ibrahim Maalouf, Snarky Puppy, Omri Mor, Laço Tayfa, and more. Our full official release ‘Belonging’ (LP) was released on Jan. 2019. The album includes 8 original compositions. We are constantly playing across the country in various venues, featuring musical guests from the local and international scenes. Plans for 2021 include finishing our 2nd album & returning to global touring.
Previous notable appearances include Kaunas Jazz Festival (2019),
Ashdod Jazz Series in Klang (2019) as well as multiple participations in the “Diversities” festival (2018) in Grenoble, France. Working around Covid-19, we focused on our homebase audience during 2020.

Nature of the Show // Our full repertoire combines quiet compositions that one would expect in a concert-like environment, alongside uplifting jams that can make a large crowd dance. During our full set, we present a full range of dynamics and moods. We can also choose specific pieces according to the venue and the nature of the event, whether it’s a small jazz club, a medium hall or a large concert outside.
Special Elements // Instrumental solos in various styles, backing vocals and crowd engagement. In addition, we sometimes feature guest instrumentalists, adding their colors on oud, violin or various wind instruments.
