..between expressions, impressions and minimalism ..
The music of pianist and artist Tomáš Hrubiš, with its changing dynamics and expression, moves between impression, expression and minimalism. It uses a combination of the sound of a prepared piano and a synthesizer with overlaps for experimental or film music.
He recorded two albums: his debut Tlecí doba (2016) and the critically acclaimed Raport (2017). Both were released by the Prague label Polí5. In the recent past, he has collaborated, for example, with Jiří Jelínek-saxophonist of the former Psí vojáci, with Tomáš Vtípil (Dg307, Načeva and others) or with drummer Martin Čech (Lesní zvěř, Hrubá hudba). He is currently finishing his third album.
Petr Mazoch is the author of instrumental music, who made his debut with the album Gray Scales (2020). He combines piano-themed songs with other acoustic instruments, most often in the form of ambient loops. He creates and lives in Prague and in his work reflects the current tendencies of electro-acoustic ambient music, along with songwriting influences. Recently, he has performed with artists such as Stanislav Abrahám, Jono Heyes, Tomáš Hrubiš, Anna Štěpánová, Simeon Walker, AidKid and others. He is the organizer of Piano Day Prague, Nils Frahm has included his songs on the Piano Day Playlist.
