Ballet of the Lviv National Opera
Scheherazade is a famous one-act ballet by Rimsky-Korsakov inspired by the oriental tales One Thousand and One Nights and featuring the vibrant energy of the music, elegant architecture of oriental dance, romantic love scenes and shimmering oriental costumes against the backdrop of the stylish sets. Carmen Suite is a work containing the artistic interpretation of two composers: the French romantic Georges Bizet, the composer of the immortal opera Carmen, and the Russian contemporary composer Rodion Shchedrin. Based on Bizet's music, Shchedrin created a completely new musical piece full of well-known intonations, enthralling rhythm and musical charm.
