Groove Brno presents: Mezzoforte! Come and enjoy an evening full of instrumental jazz-funk straight from Iceland, celebrating the 17th year of the festival.
Since its founding in 1977 by Eyþór Gunnarsson (keyboards), Jóhann Ásmundsson (bass) and Friðrik Karlsson (guitars), Mezzoforte remains one of Iceland's most exciting exports. They rose to fame with the 1983 album Surprise, which defined their unmistakable sound full of catchy melodies, dense grooves and exciting solos.
For more than four decades on the scene, Mezzoforte have maintained their unique creative playfulness, and their concerts are a veritable playground for musicians who can feel each other almost extrasensory.
