ENGEL MAYR plays guitar on Austrian TV every week when he appears on the legendary Late Night Show "Willkommen Österreich" hosted by Stermann & Grissemann. In addition to sharing the stage with big names like Nena, Herbert Grönemeyer or Helge Schneider (to name just a few), he tours and records as a classic blues rock power trio very much in the style of Govt Mule, ZZ Top and Gary Moore and has become Austrian Bluesrock Guitar Ambassador in previous years. The renowned German music magazine "Gitarre & Bass" once called his music "Heavy-Funk Bluesrock of Extra-Class" when reviewing one of Engel Mayr's records. In 2024, Engel Mayr's new album "Heavy Metal Blues" (TimeZone Records) is released and the guitarist defines a new kind of blues rock with down-tuned swamp guitars, while managing to stay in the tradition of blues music.
