She comes from a well-known musical family, where, for example, grandfather Josef (dulcimer) is a musician, father Josef (drums) runs a jazz music group, in which Monika sang from early childhood. At the age of ten, she performed as a talented singer at the Gypsy Celebration Hartmanice festival. In 2009, she became publicly known after her success in the television competition Česko Slovenská SuperStar, in 2010 she won the Discovery of the Year award in the Český slavík survey. She released her debut album Shinning in 2011. She sang a duet with Karl Gott or the theme song for the fairy tale Devil's Bride.
