The group KRABAT was founded in 1982 by young musicians Pavel Řehoř, Tom Jegr, Jiří Navrátil and Slávek Fric.
They performed publicly in the years 1983-84, when their own work, mixing the influences of hard rock, metal, punk and new wave, free-spiritedness and unrestrained performance caused a literal uproar among the youth of Brno. Fans soon began to attend their performances in large numbers and this brought conflicts with the then still very rigid regime. Communist cultural buffoons led by Stb officers gradually made it impossible for them to perform in public under various pretexts. The last concert in April 1984 became an outright anti-regime demonstration. Only very low-quality recordings made by fans on portable cassette tapes remained after the band. The semi-official concert on the occasion of the round birthday of the band members after 35 years aroused such interest that other, already official, sold-out concerts soon followed. The band then decided to reward their loyal fans with their first studio album. It was created in the autumn of 2019 in the Citron studio in Ostrava and was coincidentally completed in style on November 17. The album contains 16 original, never-before-recorded songs. It was released on February 2, 2020 and was baptized at BEATFEST in KC Semilasso Brno on February 27, 2020.
