The Black Uganda Choir (abbreviated BUCH) is an unconventional association of polyphonic singing. Most of the repertoire is a-capella (ie without the use of limbs), but if necessary, they can also attack with musical instruments. Since its inception in 1992, chronic difficulties have answered three basic questions: What does it actually play? How many members does it actually have? Why is it called the Black Uganda Choir?
Originally a relaxing subset of a serious mixed choir throughout its existence, it is characterized by composed polyphonies, unexpected arrangements, recessive lyrics and an accompanying word. And especially the willingness to make fun of everything, especially yourself. The ensemble will style whatever it likes - classical, jazz, pop-rock and tramp classics. The ensemble has been led by Tomáš Drtílek since its foundation in 1992, who alone has enough musical education and patience.
Concerts on the home stage of the Brno club Leitnerka then take place on the edge of a kind happening. The names of shows such as "Blacks on Bertramka", "How to compose successful songs", "Free Republic of BUCH" or "Certified viewer - retraining course" speak for themselves.
