Martina Trchová is a bit of a female singer from Prague, who found her new home in Brno. The author of special songs, winner of the Anděl Award for 2017, who usually performs with her band Martina Trchová & Trio, but whose solo performance tends to be even rawer and more reluctant, has already released three albums Freshly Painted (2005), This is how wolves come out in me (2010 ) and Holobyt (2016). She is not a fragile girl with a guitar solo, on the contrary, she often spews lyrics with a hip-hop cadence, and her songs are sometimes harsh self-questioning statements. The opposite is lyrical songs about hanging panties and handkerchiefs on the balcony and finding your own place in the ordinary world.
Although the Brno singer Jan Fic arose from a blues mushroom, his work has completely freed itself from genre schemes over the years, without losing its firm anchorage in musical roots. Fico's songs, whether played by him solo or with a variable line-up of the band, which never includes the producer of his two solo albums Město (2018) and Potom (2020) Martin E. Kyšperský (Flowers), often talk about the dark side of human activity. , are experienced by the author in depth, but they also modestly offer positive starting points. It is worth mentioning that the instruments that Jan Fic plays at concerts come mostly from his own workshop, namely from the Red Bird Instruments brand, which he has been successfully operating for many years.
