Barbara Kanyzová, a genre-bending singer and songwriter from Ostrava. Her blend of soul, R&B, folk, jazz and pop has created a versatile and engaging sound. It allowed her to collaborate with a wide range of artists, such as Jiří Krhut, Štěpán Kozub, Tři Tgři, Pavel Sotoniak, Mirka Miškechová, Nic Coolidge, Chops, David "Hi-Def" Tuscher, Dj Bussy, Dj Doemixx, S. Barracuda, Refew. For the time being, the largest part of her active career was spent in Prague and Berlin, where she perfected her craft, in studios and in clubs. Here she wrote most of her work in English. At the end of 2019, she returned back to Ostrava, where she played basking on the street for a whole year. In March 2020, she started collaborating with the Mír Theater, where she played in the Three Tigers improvisation show. Later she became a member of the duo Krhut&Kozub. A successful duet with Štěpán Kozub "Poraď mi s tim" was created, the author of the song is Jiří Krhut. She released her first self-titled Czech album "Memories" in the winter of 2021. The song "Rybí salat", which was created a few months later, was a great success on the Internet. Originally, the song was created only for Š. Kozuba's stand-up, which ended at the O2 Arena. The song was also heard in the movie Jackpot (Three Tigers in the movie). Surprisingly, this song was heard outside the competition, even in the talent competition Czechoslovakia has talent, where Barbara was invited as a guest in one of the episodes. He is currently working on both Czech songs and returning to his work in English. The new single Starry Night was recently released. She plans to release more singles and record a live acoustic album in English, which will consist of songs she has never released before.
