PLOHO returns to the Cabinet for the next edition of Velvet Suicide's dark evening!

The post-punk / new-wave band Ploho was founded in 2013 in Novosibirsk. This group from the main industrial center of Siberia has a typical lo-fi sound, which stems both from their passion for the Soviet and British new wave of the 80s, as well as from the lack of resources and the absence of proper studio equipment.
The band combines the coldness and loneliness of the Siberian industrial metropolis with traditional post-punk. To this he adds stories about the hopelessness and futility of struggling with a police state, sometimes with irony and sometimes with hope. Ploho romanticizes the life of an ordinary person living in an old block of flats.
In February 2022, the band started recording their last album Когда душа спит (When the soul sleeps). The beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine stopped the recording for some time and these tragic events strongly influenced the album. Lead singer and frontman Viktor Uzhakov decided to add several songs written in March 2022 that describe his emotions regarding the fear for their friends and the tragedy as a whole. At the end of the summer of the same year, the album was completed in the legendary Melodiya studio, after which the band officially left Russia.
The band will bring the new album Почва, released at the end of August 2024, to the MÚZ Cabinet.

The special guest of the evening will be the post-punk/dark wave quartet CosmoBrigade from Przemyśl.
