TEMPERS (USA/Dais rec.)

The November edition of the VELVET SUICIDE concert series, which is focused on dark-wave, cold-wave and EBM projects, will feature the New York one-woman project TEMPERS. It is made up of singer and songwriter Jasmine Golestaneh, who mixes poetic synth-pop with hints of techno, shoegaze and post-punk.

Music influenced by Fleetwood Mac, Kraftwerk and Joy Division and upbringing between London and New York. Jasmine Golestaneh quickly found a unique artistic identity through Tempers on her debut album Services, which also featured the underground dance hit Strange Harvest. For a change, 2017's Fundamental Fantasy EP was the result of The Vinyl Factory's Volcano Extravaganza artist residency on the Aeolian island of Stromboli.

Jasmine Golestaneh's interest in art led to the release of Junkspace (feat. Rem Koolhaas) in 2018. A concept album that takes place in a shopping mall where she collaborated with a famous architect and deconstructs the architecture of consumerism through interview samples. 2019's Private Life took Tempers' cinematic aesthetic into more introspective landscapes and also featured their most popular track yet, Capital Pains. The 2022 album New Meaning was released on Dais Records. The recording is accompanied by a book with handmade collages by Jasmine Golestaneh. In addition to numerous live performances, 2023 was a space for innovation for Tempers, turning the duo with producer Eddie Cooper into a one-woman project.
