Biorhythms, silence and noise. Margaret Chardiet is an interdisciplinary sound artist from New York whose work is closest to experimental harsh noise and power electronics. Raised by underground musicians, instead of following the path of higher education, she started in 2006 at the age of 16 with the experimental project Pharmakon, which she releases on the Sacred Bones label. The basis is Margaret's personal health experience and self-taught philosophies. Her work as a whole is an enforced self-restraint and a celebration of interiority that performatively leaves the body and passes into the audience. Since 2013, Pharmakon has been considered one of the unsurpassed and driving forces in extreme music genres.
