SÝČEK + OSWALDOVI

24/09/24, 20:00

CROAKER

Owls are not what they seem. Sýček is one of the most endangered species of owl in the Czech territory, and the original Tábor rock band reminds us of this fact with its name. With their dense groove and psychedelic freaks, they follow the German cosmic rock of the seventies (krautrock). They debuted with a cassette EP in 2016, released their debut album I. a year later and received a nomination for Vinyl in the Discovery of the Year category. The well-established band then went to sleep for a few years to return to active activity in 2024. The current line-up of Sýček is Czech-Slovak and they have already managed to record another album in it. It will be called IV. and will be released this fall on Polí5 and Vlna Records.

OSWALD

From Southern European folk to Morricone soundtracks to drone minimalism. The Oswalds are a fluid project with roots in singer-songwriter Andrea Rottino's solo project since the turn of the millennium. In recent years, he has been working as a duo with Kateřina Mala (Tábor, Unkilled Worker Machine), they have already recorded the current album Across the Borders We Build as a trio with Adam Štasta (Tábor, Dimitar). The recording released on Korobushka Records continues the fascination with Tuareg blues, but there are many more influences - the common feature is hypnotism and minimalism.
