This time the Japanese pianist will not come alone, but with a string quartet.
Hiromi, long known to all jazz fans around the world, became even more famous last year when she performed at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics. She released her debut album Another Mind in 2003 and has since added another thirteen albums, either under her own name or with her bands The Trio Project and Hiromi’s Sonicbloom. She has also collaborated with a number of legendary jazzmen. She recorded and performed with Chick Corea and won a Grammy with the Stanley Clark Trio.
Hiromi captivates the general and professional public in both the East and the West, thanks to his creative energy, which transcends the boundaries of jazz, classical and pop boxes and moves improvisation and composition into new spheres. Her concerts are very energetic, characterized by a mixture of jazz, prog rock and classical music. In his latest work, the Silver Lining Suite, Hiromi demonstrates his virtuoso talent and emotional range by combining his skills with a string quartet composed by violinist Tatsuo Nishie, concertmaster of the New Japanese Philharmonic. The result blurs the boundaries between classical music and jazz and creates a living organism that has a passionate, rock-inspired energy and cinematic beauty. Hiromi has been instilling this into his music since time immemorial. With the new project, she also confirms that her composing skills have reached a new peak.
