Mária Reháková: TOPOĽANA

Mária Reháková is an internationally active jazz flutist, singer and singer
composer. She toured many European countries (SK, CZ, AT, UK, ES,
IT, DE, NL) and the USA, whether with their own work, as a guest artist or as part of
prestigious English jazz orchestra "NYJO". She studied at the London School
Guildhall School of Music.
In her sextet TOPOĽANA, Mária combines London jazz with Slovak folk
songs with which she grew up as a dancer and singer in children's folklore
Kremienok file. A band made up of top London jazzmen plays it
compositions and arrangements inspired by folk music. The band operates in English
jazz scene since 2016. In the fall of 2019 they completed a Czechoslovak tour, v
within which we also performed at the Bratislava Jazz Days. In June this year
will record their debut album.
