Johann Sebastian Bach:

cantata Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme / Up, the voice calls us BWV 140

cantata Tönet, ihr Pauken! Erschallet, Trumpets! / Let the drums sound! Sound the trumpets! BWV 214

Bach and joy? Yes, it definitely goes together! The chosen cantatas can lift even the most declining mind with their festive expression and rich cast. The choice of repertoire is also symbolic of the venue: it was at the chateau in Náměšť nad Oslavou that Count von Haugwitz cultivated lively relations with the Viennese music scene, where Moravian expert on "early music" Ralph Kiesewetter held concerts of Bach and Handel's music in Mozart's time. Haugwitz was not only inspired by this, but also acquired sheet music. The Náměšť chateau thus became one of the first places in Central Europe where an enlightened society began to profess the cult of "early music".

In cooperation with Jubilee 29.5. castle concert of the music season in Náměšť nad Oslavou
