Internationally acclaimed musicians Jan Ostrý and Barbara Maria Willi meet for the first time during a joint project. They invited Petra Machková Čadová, a recent graduate of historical cello at JAMU (and a horse breeder), and all three will probe where Czech music has moved since the time of Jiří Antonín Benda. In the world premiere, they will present the Divertimento by the Brno composer Milan Slimáček, which will surprise the audience with its inner kinship with the work of J. S. Bach. Both composers are based on rational building principles, and despite the differences in musical language of the 18th and 21st centuries, their works may be closer than we would expect…
