The fifty-year-old pioneer of the dance scene DJ Hell is called the Andy Warhol of the German cultural underground. He started with punk, from which he switched to new wave and acid house in the 80s. In the mid-80s, he was fascinated by electro and hip-hop, then followed by a maximum fascination with electronic dance music. In 1996, he founded the label International DeeJay Gigolo Records, on which he began to release his own style of electroclash. In the history of the label, we can find names like Jeff Mills, Miss Kittin & The Hacker, Dopplerefekt, Fisherspooner, Tiga or Vitalic. After 2000, Hell's artistic vision and publishing enthusiasm attracted to Berlin dozens of musicians, photographers, filmmakers, artists and designers who make up the current German pop culture scene.
